Frequently Asked Questions
Baby’s Best Diaper Service is an eco-conscious, diaper delivery subscription service. Each week we deliver cloth diapers & diapering supplies directly to your door.
We use gentle, plant-based detergents for laundering linens and carry everything you need to sustainably diaper your baby from birth to potty training.
How often does a baby need their diaper changed?
An awake baby will need to be changed every 2-3 hours to stay comfortable and dry. Newborn infants will use 10-15 diapers a day for the first several weeks. As they grow, babies will use fewer diapers per day. For longer stretches between diaper changes (like overnight) we recommend adding an additional overnight insert or doubling up the cloth diapers.
How many diapers are delivered each week?
We issue the following number of diapers each week:
Small (6-11 lbs) - 85 diapers
Medium (9-22 lbs) - 75 diapers
Large (18-35 lbs) - 60 diapers
Extra Large (28 - 42 lbs) - 50 diapers
The number of diapers we issue each week is determined by the size of diapers ordered. This is because as baby’s grow they use fewer diapers per day. On average, a newborn will use ~80 diapers per week. All babies are different and the number of diapers issued can be customized by request. Account adjustments are simple, we’re here to help.
Please note that your First and Second Deliveries will contain the above number of diapers. After your First and Second Delivery your account will be added to our rotational count system. The number of diapers in all subsequent deliveries will vary, and depends upon how many diapers were picked up for laundering the previous week. We assume that any items not picked up for laundering are clean in your home. Please see our Diaper Use Guide.
What if we have twins? Or multiple children in diapers?
We do serve households with multiple children in diapers. We offer Additional Child Diaper Service as an Add-On to a client’s Base Package Subscription. Each additional child’s service is 25-50% off depending on the service package selected. Our registration fee does not increase when registering multiple children for service and we collect all of the additional child’s subscription size & base package information during check out when you register for service. We aim to sustainably diaper as many children as possible, please contact us with further questions.
You do not need to be present for deliveries.
Diaper Service is similar to a trash and recycling service. On your delivery day, leave your bin with used items out for pick up during your scheduled pick-up window. Our contactless driver will pick up your items to be laundered and deliver your fresh diapers.
Please note that our friendly drivers are not able to accept requests for account adjustments or to resolve delivery issues. Please contact us directly to make changes to your account or to resolve any issues with your delivery. Existing clients will receive the fastest response regarding their weekly delivery via their Client Text Thread.
How to address diaper rash.
Your baby’s young skin loves to breath and many infants and babies experience diaper rash as they adjust to wearing diapers. Diaper rash is normal and can happen for a number of reasons including wearing a soiled diaper for too long, the pH of an individual baby’s urine, sensitivity resulting from the introduction of a new food, or not enough diaper-free time. Fresh air and a cloth-safe Diaper Cream is the remedy. Offer your baby diaper-free time every day to allow their skin time to breathe, use a cloth-safe Diaper Cream to sooth irritated skin. If you are breast-feeding, gently examine your diet for any foods you notice are correlated with an outbreak of diaper rash (caffeine and vegetables in the brassica family are notorious for upsetting infant’s tummies and contributing to diaper rash during the first few weeks).
Please note that using Diaper Creams containing Regular Formula Destine are not recommended as it stains & damages diapers and the zinc oxide and cod liver oil content can be harsh on baby’s skin. Please see our Diaper Loss & Damage Policy
Can you launder our personal stash of cloth diapers?
